DEVILDRIVER - STRIKE AND KILL (BLUE COLOURED) VINYL
DEVILDRIVER
DESCRIPTION:
"After numerous world tours and ten studio albums, the groove metal legends DEVILDRIVER are still going full throttle in the second decade of their career – no handbrake in sight! With their double album Dealing With Demons Vols. I & II, the band around iconic frontman Dez Fafara made a massive statement: Vol. I dominated the metal radio charts for an impressive 15 weeks, while Vol. II was celebrated by international media outlets such as Metal Injection, Kerrang!, and Blabbermouth. The latter declared: 'You can't stop the unstoppable.'"
Now DEVILDRIVER are going on the offensive again – hungrier than ever: With Strike and Kill, released on July 10, 2026 via Napalm Records, they unleash an uncompromising assault. The title says it all; a brutal blow that perfectly encapsulates the band's unmistakable blend of melodic death metal influences, dark atmosphere, massive grooves, and the distinctive vocals of Dez Fafara.
Without preamble, "Dig Your Own Grave" opens the album with explosive force, followed by "Dead in the Water," which underscores the melodic strength of the guitar duo Alex Lee and Gabe Mangold. "Sanctified In Scars" combines industrial elements with black metal influences, while the title track "Strike and Kill" processes both hardship and insight, impressing with furiously technical riffs and Davier Perez's drumming. "In the Moonlight" and "Never Coming Home" rely on atmospheric contrasts, lending an elegant, emotional touch to the brutality, while "Ride or Die" unleashes unrestrained power. With "Headed for the Fall" and "You're Just a Ghost," DEVILDRIVER demonstrate their technical finesse, while "Summoning Shadows" offers a brief respite, paving the way for the next escalation: "Shut the Silence On" and "Oath of Iron" push the tempo to the limit with thrashy riffs and blast beats, before "All Bets Are Off" closes the album with devastating force. With the return of founding bassist Jon Miller, DEVILDRIVER return to their roots and deliver an album that reignites their raw intensity with Strike and Kill.
